1. Who we are

AEL Carrier is a mobile application provided by American Energy Logistics (“AEL”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This app is used by carriers and drivers to receive load details, share location with dispatch, and upload delivery documents.

2. Information we collect

When you use the AEL Carrier app, we may collect:

a. Load and account information

• Load number and status
• Carrier name and ID
• Driver name and contact information (when provided by the broker)
• Pickup and delivery locations and appointment times

b. Location data

With your permission, the app collects your location:

• While the app is open (foreground location)
• In some cases, while the app is in the background, for active loads

Location data is used only to show your position to AEL dispatch and our shipping customers for tracking the progress of a load. We do not use your location for advertising.

c. Photos and documents

You may upload:

• Pickup photos
• Delivery photos
• Paperwork such as PODs, BOLs, and other load documents

These files are stored securely and are shared with AEL staff and our customers as needed to confirm pickups, deliveries, and billing.

d. Device & usage information

We may collect limited technical information, such as:

• Device type and operating system
• App version
• Error logs and basic analytics (for troubleshooting and improving the app)

We do not collect your contacts, SMS, or other unrelated personal content from your device.

3. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide the AEL Carrier service and operate active loads
• Show real-time tracking to AEL dispatch and customers
• Confirm pickups and deliveries and process billing
• Communicate with you about loads, delays, and support issues
• Maintain security and prevent fraud or misuse
• Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Sharing of information

We may share your information with:

• AEL employees and contractors who need it to manage loads
• Shippers, consignees, and customers involved in a load, as needed to coordinate and verify transportation
• Service providers who host our systems, store documents, or provide analytics and error monitoring
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety

All service providers are required to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.

5. Location data & your choices

You control location permissions on your device. You can:

• Allow or deny location access
• Limit access to “While Using the App” or allow “Always” (background) tracking, depending on your device settings

If you disable location sharing, AEL dispatch may not be able to track your progress on a load, and you may not be able to use certain features of the app.

6. Data retention

We keep load records, tracking data, and documents for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Complete the load
• Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations
• Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements

When data is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and restricted access to production systems. However, no system can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International transfers

Our systems may be hosted in the United States. If you access the app from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

9. Children’s privacy

The AEL Carrier app is intended for professional drivers and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
